What Is Extended Personal Care?
Extended Personal Care (EPC) provides additional authorized personal care assistance for individuals who need more support than standard personal care services. These services may include non-medical and health-related tasks of a medical nature performed by trained QSP staff under a Nursing Plan of Care.
Our Extended Personal Care Services May Include:
- Assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Assistance with mobility and transfers
- Incontinence care
- Range of motion exercises
- Assistance with medications (as authorized in the Nursing Plan of Care)
- Skin care and monitoring
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Health-related tasks of a medical nature under a Nursing Plan of Care
- Support with toileting and hygiene
- Other authorized personal care tasks as identified in the care plan

Who Pays for Extended Personal Care?
For eligible individuals, authorized Extended Personal Care services are paid through North Dakota Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Waiver programs. Coverage is based on program eligibility, assessment, an approved care plan, and service authorization. Legendary Homecare Agency bills the authorized program for covered services.
